It is easy to demonstrate that most wire has directionality. When made into twisted-pair interconnect cables of the RCA persuasion, one direction (as cut from the spool) generally sounds more forward, and the other direction warmer.
Neither of these is 'correct' even if one direction sounds more appealing in a given system.
The first-order way to fix the problem is to make the cable with each 'wire' made from two pieces. The two pieces are of opposite directions as cut from the spool. The center splice has to be well soldered and insulated.
The alternative is to make each 'wire' out of two pieces twisted together, each piece of opposite direction as cut from the spool. This approach suffers from supporting additional resonance modes. Deliberate resonance damping could make it superior to the spliced approach.
