That's a lot of wires... I've not had this one bog down but I may be more willing to simplify my problems. I've found that symmetry and cheating are my friends, that more things are axisymmetric than they first appear and that you don't have to get very far away from a compact coil to replace it by a filament. "It's all in how you slice it". I know that's an olde expression but I really don't know it's origin. Butchers? Anyway it's sure true of 2D FEA models.
The only other program I've used was Quickfield and I thought it made more attractive pictures, but I've found these adequate. After all, it's well known that Engineers are pragmatic, not aesthetic. As an ID guy once put it "It's not so much that your design opinion is wrong, it's that you shouldn't even be allowed to have one." But that was when he was just out of school, nowadays he's much more of a pragmaticist.
You didn't do a 3D one did you? Years ago I set out to buy one and not only were they very expensive but the vendor couldn't assure me that it would work for what I wanted and said that creating the geometry and figuring out the program was so time-consuming that I probably couldn't find out within the return window. He said I should try diligently to do it in 2D. Fast forward a few years and I did indeed manage to do the problem in 2D with no software cost. He was right...
