Pro: when the experiment is correctly designed, may produce repeatable
test results. Correct design involves testing the design with effects
known to be audible from prior work and arranging for the test condition
itself not to be an interfering variable.

Con: Unless the experiment is correctly designed, will produce
meaningless results. Design of such experiments is difficult and very
demanding of resources.
