Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

RE: those preferences fall in line with measurements

who says there is no scientific measurable explination? why would you assume that?

> How would you know amp(s) like that exist or not? You could not have "listened" to every SS amp in the world, now could you?>

I have tried a few cheap SS amps. None of them were even in the ball park. There does come a point where an appparent trend comes into play. How many times do you have to bang your head against different walls before you figure out it's going to hurt each time? Life is short. If someone thinks they have one that will do the job I may give it a try.

Same answer above to your answer above.

How do you know?

> so how do you know some ultra cheap wire(s) doesn't have more pixie dust sprinkled on it and sounds better than yours when "listening".>

Don't know anything about pixie dust content of wires.

> Have you listened to every cheap wire in the world?>

How many are there?

> Has any other audiophile?>

How would I know?

I know that. What is your point?

>> Audio would be so much simpler and cheaper.>>

> It is, when rational, scientific method/knowledge is followed.>

Really? How would you know? When have you actually followed the scientific method? I have tried the "objectivist" method. That has nothing to do with rational thought or science. It pretends to but it doesn't. I did pay less but I also got less. It was the path to mediocre sound. not what I was looking for. If that works for you fine.

> And very easy to hear. Such as my stereo vs your stereo vs a live instruments>

I'd be quite happy to take that challenge.

> (recorded) in your room.>

Recorded in my room? Live instruments recorded in my room would sound like crap. Live music recorded in your room should sound like crap too. If it doesn't then your system sounds like crap. If you don't understand why just tell me and I will explain it to you. here is a hint, reverb and live music good, reverb and playback bad.

> Ever compare your speakers to a live drum set? I have.>

Must have been interesting. you had a live drum set in your listening room? You got a similar sound from your system? Hmm does that prove anything other than overloading a room will have a common sonic signature?
