If you are doing an evaluation to determine your own preference than sighted is fine. The size and finish are all part and parcel and should be a deciding factor in your choice. If the other hand you are a manufacturer trying to evaluate a new driver/crossover change you would not want this to be known. So the evaluation would be done blind. There is nothing wrong with DBT. It is just a tool to be used for evaluation. It is not the simple procedure you often see the proponents of it saying it is. It is actually quite a task to set-up correctly to get repeatable results. Every method has its strong and weak points you have to evaluate what method is best suited to what you are trying to achieve.
