Yes, I expect the more rigid construction of the 6900 would greatly improve its audio performance.

If you are up for an experiment, here is one that will not risk damage to your tubes and can easily be undone.

Get some Teflon thread-seal tape and wrap each tube pin where it comes out of the envelope with a couple of turns. Twist the tape so it only covers a small length of the pin and ends up like a cushion. Use a convenient length of tape and wrap each pin then, move on to the next pin without cutting or breaking the tape. Tie off the first and last pins wrapped.

This will improve the acoustic damping of the internal tube elements for most tubes. You should hear improved resolution if the 6900 still has some internal vibration.
