Re: Yes Steve I Wish You Would

Steve,

As you're now talking more rationally instead of insulting me for liking SETs I'll address you in like kind. When I said many here appear to believe that listening through an SET means one is hearing a highly distorted and colored replication of music. You responded with: My question is, so what? Who cares? Why do YOU care?

Steve the reason I care because I'd like to educate the opponents of SET's as to their ability to play clean undistorted music under the right circumstances. The reason I care is because I love SET's and would like to remove the mis-information about them from those who don't know.
====================
As to your comments Why do I choose to listen to music using SET amps? To please myself? (yes that's absolutely the reason) Or to please someone else? If it's to please myself, you can't think of any earthly reason why I would give one shit about what others might believe about your using SET amps. as I told you Steve it to educate them that SETs can play clean undistorted music under the right circumstances. So many people don't believe or know that and I wanted them to see why they could.
========================
Steve you're very much mistaken when you claim this shows I obviously do care what others might believe about my using SET amps and shows that I'm not very secure in my choice and feel the need to try and justify my choice to those whose choice would be different from mine. As I've told you many times now I'm only trying to show my opponents there are viable reasons for listening to SETs. They aren't always the highly colored ditortion makers they're believed to be. So Steve unless you think I'm a liar, I've told you before I'm quite secure in my audio choices. I mearly wish to educate those who don't know the truth about SETs. Now you can believe that or not, the choice is yours.
=========================
The article I refered to explained why that isn't so. You can say Bullshit, if you wish but the truth is the article explains quite clearly that when a given condition were true, then you would end up with the result I described, i.e and SET amp that actually is cleaner than a solid state amp. Obviously this would require assemblying a well thought out system. Yet anyone he spends any kind of money on a highend audio system should do just that! And by that I mean assemble a well thought out system. That "should" be a given result even for an all audio systems solid state and SET alike.

So whereas the article does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to establish whether or not this condition actually exists to any degree if at all in the real world. It would or at least should exist in any intelligently designed and thought out SET or soild state hi-end system.
=============================
So no I Steve don't believe we're right back where we started. We'd only be back at the beginning if you disagreed that in the real world anyone who spends their hard earned money shouldn't take the time to assemble an intelligently well thought out system.
