Allan: Geoff, Clark and I are trying ourselves to REVERSE ENGINEER the device. Quantum dots seem the most plausable component that 'might' cause an effect like this. We did not design it, nor is the OEM manufacturer giving us much info.
However, we tend to trust our own listening experience and those of our colleagues. We could still be fooled, but the odds are against it, in my opinion. NONE of us originally 'believed' that this device could do anything, UNTIL we each tried it, and it appeared to work. That's when we got interested in understanding what it is, and how it 'might' work. Trying to understand things like this is our hobby, you might say, and sometimes we can profit from the added knowledge and experience it gives us on the frontline of physics. We are all 'old guys' without much else to do, more or less. ;-)
