Re: Its not just a gap, its a Chasm!

Dkb,

I like your posts because most of your observations concur with mine and I noticed in the past that you have agreed with some of my SACD /CD observations. I am a classical newbie, even though I now listen to loads of classical music with a preference to orchestral works because SACD make them very pallatable and gripping. Could you kindly recommend to me some orchestral works that are gripping listens on SACD, I have been listening to classical FM and BBC R3 of late and I seem to connect with Mozart, Handel, Tchaiskovsky and Philip Glass orchestral works. Could you recommended great orchestral SACD recordings of these composers. I have to confess that I am not really familiar with Mahler works hence I have no opinion even though I see that his works are now the rage of the board. Specifically is there a great SACD recording of Tchaiskovsky's Sleeping beauty.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks in advance

It a'int all about the music I also want excellent sonics!
