if Duilawyer has an ear-blowing epiphany? Forsake "stadium" mode?"Miniscule improvement" implies that you hear a difference, however infinitesimal,* and that you heard something in it that you liked. The three years you've "wasted" equate approximately to the availability lifespan of the format--and the developmental progression of its hardware at the recording as well as consumer end--you've decided to chuck.
I wonder if you didn't just have a bad cup of coffee this morning.
