I'm one of those who has given the Ortofon A-90 praise (on the Continuum Criterion tt with Copperhead tonearm, all on the Castelli rack), but it does require expert setup. Chris Sommovigo made sure that the A-90 was installed and dialed in correctly, and we've double-checked it since then.I don't think that I'd want to install and set this up myself...I'm no MC installation wizard...but once it's right, I can vouch for the excellence of the results. The Ortofon A-90 is superb. (In fact, I'm listening to it right now...the wonderful Japanese pressing of King Crimson's *Lark's Tongue in Aspic*, a disturbing favorite of mine from the early '70s.)
So I'm puzzled by Harry's response to the A-90, and must assume that his was not installed and dialed-in optimally.
All the best,
