RE: Yeah well ...

In all fairness, this section of AA seems to have been made initially for 'Stereophile'. It seems that a lot of low rent, (and because they can subscribe the mag for almost free), folks had a lot of criticism of the mag and John Atkinson in general, and this section was to relieve the pressure from other parts of the forum. John Atkinson has been nice enough to respond directly, but in the past, he appears to have discouraged his reviewers from contributing to forums such as this.
You see, 15 years ago, we were all one happy family, interacting together, on TAN, a subscription (modem connected address) site. One by one, the better writers on TAN were hired by 'Stereophile' and they then disappeared from TAN. I am pretty sure that it was was because of peer or editorial pressure. It might be, of course, that they found a higher quality group of people to converse with, and they dispensed with the riff-raff like me. ;-)
I have always found Bob Harley to be a straight shooting and overall knowledgeable guy, and he always treated me with dignity and fairness, when he was with 'Stereophile'. I have not heard directly from him for years, but I doubt that my initial impression would change of him, now that he is with 'The Absolute Sound'.
