Excelent post, helps me understand some of the spurious reading I got while trying this. So to boil it down: One would be better off using just one channel of the signal chain for two reasons 1) compounded gain imbalances through the phono preamp + the preamp stage; 2) allows one to use the same DMM (= more precise reading) at the amp output. OK, so I will swap the Phono stage L & R inputs for each round of readings - not a big deal.Sorry to ask but I don't trust my memory and the new search function is odious, I couldn't find your previous instructions. Measuring for the best seperation in your model involves playing a test track with a 1Khz signal in one channel at a time. One should measure the channel without any signal and adjust the azmuith for lowest possible output. I assume the goal is actually the lowest possible, but equal, output in the null channels.
Given this model, one then ignores the output in the signal channel. Do I have this correct?
Thanks
