The Choke, attached to the speaker ground terminal, theoretically should make no difference at all. After all as Steve Eddy would declaim, it does electrically nothing, since both terminals were attached to the ground.
One thing I do notice, after trying this on other systems. If your signal is inverted in polarity, you will probably not hear very much. If you do not hear very much, try inverting the speaker leads at the speaker, listen and then try the battery tweak. Remember also that many speaker systems have drivers in inverted polarity in respect to each other. That makes true evaluation very hard sometimes. I have often posted in the past that polarity inversions some3times are the key to a better understanding and assessment of any tweaks.
