that was manufactured 40-50 years ago, just because someone chooses to use it instead of sending it off to the dump.Tons of mercury are driving around in cars in the form of mercury switches, it's in homes in thermostats, and worse yet, TONS are sitting in old mine tailings, just waiting to get into the waterways.
Best way to keep that mercury out of the environment is to keep it sequestered in tubes! ;-)
