Re: SACD and DVD-A

Lets face it..................the licensing revenue has dried up now for the Phillips CD. So they create a new, better sounding technology for mass consumption. The irony here is hi rez technology IS NOT NEEDED! CD replacing the LP for convenience? No brainer. DVD replacing VHS because of the pictiure quality? DUH! SACD/DVDA replacing CD because of a hugh increase in sound quality? Please. Notice how hi rez hardware is getting cheaper and cheaper. Eventually you'll be able to play hi rez discs in your car and your boom box! Will it sound any better than the current and ever improving format? Hell no. Remember the EL- cassette? Cool toy. Vastly better than cassette. Reel2reel quality. Did the public need/want it. Nope. I'm actually waiting on an Ack! Dack to see how much more I can squeeze out of my CD collection. Could be the best $500 bucks I've spent since going back to analogue. Cheers
