associate Ricky Ricardo with Cuban music. Just joshin', as I trust you know. Is it okay if I associate Gloria Estebfan with it, though? At least though some slight influence? I like her.By the way, one of the absolute most favoritist Cuban songs of mines (see Mrs. Piggy) is "La Paloma", which many think is a Mexican song. But you and I know it was imported to Mexico from Cuba by the wife of the Emperor Maximillian (can't remember her name) after a long stay on the island en route to Mexico. I think it was Maximillian. You know - the poor snook who ran into Juarez.
I used to love singing it (in Spanish, of course). Can't anymore. Health problems, sob! (Nothing life-threatening.) But few people know how to play it with the dignity and haunting beauty it deserves.
Cuando . . . take it, Maestro.
