I agree that nowadays, specially young people in my country (it's Spain) as you mention for the US, the trend is to communicate with a poor, synthetic and preformed language, which actually not communicates the deepness of speaker's thoughts and feelings, but probably because the speaker doesn't produce them, that's the real problem. I understand your disappointment when we here talk about things that barely understand, using terms that sometimes are hollow. But other times, we have lots of fun and learn to be more critical and exigent with manufacturers and our own set-ups. Oooopss I'm disgressing. What I lead up to is that it's surprising to me that we music lovers (that's why become audiphiles don't we?), so supposed to be with some special sensibility, also have lost the focus on this hobby and sometimes we care more about the gear itself, its price, the critics it receives, its brand... than the pleasure and enjoyment it can produce to us and being able to transmit our perceptions to others. Perhaps it has become an elitist-pretended activity with all the things it takes beside.Nice thread!!
Regards.
