that DBTs tests are somehow magically endowed with validity.

Most of you fellows now resting you laurels of the "DBT are a well established" mantle stayed clear of the recent discussions (cough cough) concerning the actual practice, i.e. the low-N ABX tests, Sterteophile's amplifier DBT featuring mass group listening, etc. The reason IME seems clear, i.e. unlike Dumb & Dumber you fellows are unwilling to make complete fools of yourselves defending the indefensible.

So sure, it's safer to just sit back and recite things that superfically resemble truisms, e.g. "DBT are a well established protocol" but, by way of a simile, such foolishness would be like supporting the notion "the practice of math is good for students" knowing full well that the students in question did little more than poke themselves with protractors.
