RE: Amarra

I have had many discussions with Sonic about how to discuss what Amarra is doing. They see no way to give a technical explanation (further than the attempts that have been made) at this time that would not compromise their proprietary intellectual property. This same IP is at the core of all of their software products. I'm sorry if this is frustrating to you, but I don't think they are going to satisfy your curiosity and compromise their IP.

Maybe in the future there will be more information that they can give out.

Also, its difficult to use iTunes as a comparison since no one publicly knows what Apple does inside iTunes. Anyone who works with Apple (like Sonic) has signed a serious non-disclosure regarding the inner workings of Apple software including iTunes.

Amarra does not use any EQ or special DSP to enhance sound quality. In it's default state (without EQ or volume control invoked) it passes bit perfect playback as verified at this meeting.

This is why Sonic is making demos of Amarra software available so people can decide for themselves with the best measuring tools available - their ears.
