I've told you where you are confused. You don't understand the difference between digital loop back and analog loop back. mitchco did a digital loopback, not do an analog loopback which others such as archimago have done.
There is no point in arguing about measurements that others have made when you don't understand what is being measured and how the measurement tools work. Rest assured that those of us who have a some understanding of the issues didn't get it overnight by reading articles and Internet posts. We got it by many long hours of study and experimentation. It isn't necessary to understand this stuff to enjoy recorded music, or even to figure out which components work well together as a playback chain for reproducing music. All one needs for that is one's God given sense of hearing. However, it is necessary to understand this stuff, both the analog part and the digital part, if one is going to talk sensibly about measurements or to make logical deductions as to the cause of something that one hears or doesn't hear.
