Unfortunately, it takes the opposite position to the one you are asking about.

It refers to other articles posted by mitchco. Throughout this series of articles mitchco makes a pretty persuasive case that there is no difference between the output of "bit perfect" media players such as JRiver, Jplay, or Foobar.

I think that the effort that mitchco put in to isolating his samples and then demonstrating that they null perfectly down to -144dB is pretty convincing.

For people to actually "hear" a difference (as opposed to imagining one), shouldn't there actually "be" a difference? How much difference can there be if it's at -144dB or below?
