Hello,
Well, here in France I never saw any conical horn built by Bill but I used to listen to several truncated conical horns...
My answer was only related to the original question inside which Bill's horn were described as having the "best design".
Horn design is not art and doen't suffer empirical methods. The effect of a truncated mouth is no way a question of theory and it is audible.
Please explain to me what in Bill's horn design can reduce the effect of the truncated mouth.
But the way Bill build his horns is something I'll not question, as it seems to me an excellent method.
Best regards from Paris, France
Jean-Michel Le Cléac'h
(BTW if Bill may want to build Le Cléac'h horns it is free to do it as I allow everybody to do it for free...)
