I really really hope that this new format will be transparent to current SACD users. Everything so far seems it will as Sony has bent over backwards to make it very easy to use SACD I hope they don't screw it up now just as SACD is starting to pull ahead in support.

If for some reason this new format is replacing SACD and there is no form of backwards compatibility I hope every new format dies until they get it right. I love SACD but this whole mess is starting to look like Quad now from the 70's. a million new formats none of them catch on and they all end up dieing. Also the copy write protection craze from RIAA and record companies is really going to kill them.
It's going to come to a point that every disc is so encrypted they have even decided not to let you play the disc at all. All you'll be able to do is read the lyrics.

Let me spell it out for RIAA if you can listen to a disc you can pirate it, there is no technical way around that, even if it means copying what is playing out of your speakers. They need to cocentrate on giving us a reason to buy there overprice crap instead of trying to stop us from DL'ing it.
