I don't think anybody here will dispute that E man.

Many of my best and fave jazz SACDs are early stereo recordings. The differences between the early 16/50 DMPs and 16/44 are not subtle. The 16/50 of the Jay Leonhart (yes, I admit to listening to that one on occaision) sounds quite nice on the SACD reissue. Different mic techniques and mics used, are very apparent. Since the sampling frequencies are so close together, could it be that something else detracted from the sound of the early CD issue? Perhaps something was lost in the data conversion? Or is 50 KHz close to the point of diminishing returns on increased resolution?
