Another logic lesson.

Let's take a classic "if-then" statement:

A) "If you see a bank robbery, you should call the police."

But if we cannot turn derive the next proposition from it:

B) "If you do not see a bank robbery, you should NOT call the police."

Proposition B) is rather silly, because there might be ever so many other reasons to call the police.

A1) If you expect to hear differences, you probably will hear them."

B2) If you do not expect to hear differences, you probably will not hear them.

It's the same thing. B2) does not follow, even they tubeguy, markrohr, aand you seem to think it does. A1) is simply an illustration. Perception is not a simple process. Biases aside, we are simply built to perceive differences, and willy nilly, do so.
