Hi, WBWB:I really appreciate your comments and insights. It's interesting that you mention the amp's slightly "dark" character. Harry Pearson noticed that, too, in his recent review. A friend of mine heard the ASR at Rocky Mountain paired with Genesis speakers, and he didn't like the setup at all--but he thought that it was more the fault of the Genesis than the ASR. All I know is that the top-of-the-line Emitter looks like a VERY serious piece of gear, and the 27k pricetag isn't all that unreasonable considering that you get four boxes. I'd love to hear one someday soon. I like more of a clear, fast presentation, but I love resolution, so it sounds like my kind of amp. (BTW, I've also heard the Halcros [dm68], and I had exactly the same impression as you: very resolving and detailed, but somehow thin and uninvolving.) I was also intrigued by your comments about Swiss amps being lightning quick. I own the DarTZeel NHB-108, which is Swiss, and it's one of the fastest and most transparent amps I've ever heard. It's not bright at all, though--just VERY musical and incredibly resolving. Until I hear something better, it's staying in my room! It may be a while, since this thing sounds so damn good. Thanks again for your insights. They were very helpful. Take good care!
