RE: Quads, Should I Bother?

I had a similar experience. I had at different times two pair of 63's, which I loved, but was always curious to hear ESLs. I was able to pick up a pair of ESLs at a really good price. I sent them to Kent at Electrostatic Solutions for a complete going over. When I got them back, I was just stunned at how wonderful they sounded. They play plenty loudly enough for me and have adequate bass for me. The mids are simply magical.
I expect this pair of speakers will serve me all the rest of my days.
I love the way they look and when the music comes on, it's simply there in the room. It doesn't seem to come from the speakers at all. And the accuracy of reproduction, especially of human voice, is just superb. Try out a pair of ESLs. I don't think you will be disappointed.
