You may want to sit for the answer, though. The other pair of speakers are Definitive Technology ST-Ls. They are D'Appolito (MTM) over powered bass modules with aircraft aluminum enclosures that are as narrow as possible (minimal baffle) and not rectangular. They are very much like Magnepans in their level of value. Each design excels in slightly different ways, but I'm exceedingly happy with both and both do the disappearing trick with plenitude. Every time I swap the speakers, I have the same reaction: Wow, these speakers sound fantastic! It's like having a perpetually new system.
I had originally planned to sell the 3.7s, but there are some wrinkles to that plan, not the least of which is the fact that I'm rather attached to them. Eventually, I removed them from their boxes and discovered that they worked in my new arrangement far better than I anticipated - after I wrapped my projector screen casing with Dynamat. Then, I thought it would be fun to do a long term comparison, but that got me addicted to making the switch every three months.
Oddly enough, it's the more conventional speakers that have the more limited sweet zone.
