RE: Technics 1210 and VPI Scout.... interesting difference

I looked at your system. I am sure you feel that all of the parts are above reproach. I know that you said Mike set up your cartridge and you checked it and you have been doing this for a long time etc. I have been doing this for a while myself. Maybe I just got lucky, but it doesn't change the fact that my Blackbird does not mistrack and sounds wonderful. I just wanted to counter your Blackbird mistracts with one not necessarily. BTW, Mike at VPI sold me on the Blackbird. It doesn't mistrack for him either.

So I do think that you should get rid of your Scout/Blackbird, because it doesn't fit your system or tastes. It doesn't matter where the problem is. You have exhausted your efforts. You are convinced that the cartridge mistracks and that the table only lends itself to good recordings and that doesn't work for you. You don't need to apologise to anyone, just go in a different direction.
