I have not tried Purple, but have tried Orange in my CAT SL1, PrimaLuna CD, and a little Jolida integrated I use on the video rig.
These Oranges replaced HiFi Tuning and older SR fuses. The HiFi was in the PrimaLuna. Overall the effect is, at least to me, very similar one to the effect of ultrasonic cleaning of an LP. There's an overall lowering of noise floor. A blacker background if you will, that lets everything move more clearly to the fore. Dynamics are better and all around the reproduction becomes more convincing.
Effects are/were not universal across all devices. By far the most pronounced improvement was with the CD machine. The Orange in the CD moved its performance MUCH closer to the performance of my LP setup. That gap had gotten so large with the improvements I'd made to the LP setup that I even had thoughts of selling the PrimaLuna. With the addition of the Orange those thoughts evaporated. There was some minor, less noticeable improvements in the Jolida integrated, and zero improvement in the performance of my CAT. Although the CAT power supply is monstrously over engineered alreay.
I thought the price of the Orange was prohibitive, but the price of the Purple, a sacrificial device, is nuts IMO. I won't be trying the Purple because of the cost.
