The biggest difference between the Moondogs and S2A3 is that the Moondogs are cap coupled and boast 3 gain stages while the S2A3 has a single gainstage and is direct coupled.(plus no caps in the signal path).All I know is that the S2A3 is very simplistic. You will see upon arrival. You have to look under the hood. Theres so little to see!
As for the Hyperbolic Edgar/Moth Audio/Lowther horns.........I do wonder how they will sound. Probably killer. Especially from what Craig has told me. On the other hand I've become content with the Altec 604's. OK, I'm melting. I don't even feel the need to continue with my previous Lowther plan. Maybe later.
For now I have dreams of active crossovers and bi-amplification.
As for how the Medallions sound...I believe Positive Feedback has a good review on them in the recent issue......or maybe last months..........
