My regret...

24.2.109.234

My regret is that I did not get involved in a good tube enthusiast group, like Valve in Seattle, earlier. I have been reading Glass Audio for years, intrigued and interested in the way of tubes (it was as much a nostalgia thing than in search of the nicest music, but that too.) I have seen adds for audio clubs around for a long time, I just never moved on it.

I suggest to anyone that if they have such opportunity to take advantage of it. Go to a meeting today!

You can learn and hear so much sitting in someone's basement or meeting room, listening to their comments and listening to their systems. It is there that I learned what I like, and what I don't. I did not have the funds nor the time to start playing with every different output tube and trannie and speaker known to man, like some seem to (I do have envy...), but I sure got to hear a good range of output tubes, trannies, and speakers thanks to all who show up at these meetings. Heat them up, sit back, shut up and listen to the music! Great fun!

I realize that not everyone has access to a group like that, and since I have moved to the middle of Tennessee from Seattle, neither do I. So I have decided to try to get a group together--time will tell. I encourage others to try to group up too. You never know who you will find and what they can bring.
