It seems to me like things have been taken out of context a bit. I apologize if for some reason people think that I flamed
someone or if I hurt someone's feelings. However I do not apologize for my post(s). Though I can see how they may or may
not be taken out of context.First of all I will never recommend that one jumps into SET's period. Those who do I applaud you. However there is much
care needed to truly experience their hearts. To reach their souls. Anyone who owns one will tell you this. For whatever reason many have been looking towards 2A3's. Which I have no problem with. However they do require high
attention to detail for enjoyment. Sure you could use a 86 db speaker rated at 4 Ohms. Go ahead and go for it if you must.
However don't be surprised if you are disappointed either. Before jumping in though do consider auditioning. Also 2A3's don't do it all!...limitations....The idea of these forums is to provide help and information. We all don't agree 100% of the time. We aren't suppose to.
However we also don't like watching people make mistakes. Thus it is about time that it is stated that 2A3's and SET's aren't
for everyone. Some people like ss, some pp's, some SET's, and some OTL's. Any of these are fine. I have and hold my opinions of each.
However if you have only experienced bigger forms of amplification please do some research into each group and yes even sub
group. Such as low powered pp's. Or flea powered SET's. All of which have positives and negatives. (Yin/Yang if you please) Some you may be able
to live with and others you may not. Some feel that they must seek the advice of others and go with the flow. This is what I'm against. Go with what will bring you
bliss. Some feel that their advice will save others money. I wish that someone would have introduced me to 2A3's a long time ago. I
wish I never bought into the market hype of "bigger is better". Then again I don't regret anything. As it has been a learning
experience that has brought me to a path where I can find the musicality that I'm looking for. However this place that I have
reached is not for everyone. How would my advice save anyone time or money. As my ear is mine. Along with my opinions. In
the end the ear is the best judge. Experience is a must. Even if you have to pay for it.As far as jumping in....go ahead. The point that I and others are making is that you must be careful. Yes, one needs to make the
leap sometime or another but like I stated earlier let your ear be the judge. Don't let all of your experiences be based on the
cyber world and that of books alone. In the end it's your hard earned cash. Allow it to bring the most enjoyment you can get.
Whether it be SET, pp or??????I'd also like to point out that theres only so much information before you need to make the leap. No-one can make sure your
landing is soft.I'd also like to point out the obvious.....SET's aren't for everyone. Though sometimes some of us addicts seem to think they are.
And sometimes us addicts need to point this one out.Happy Listening!
