4 7bsst monoblocks(240v) driving N801 will not have a clipping problem. The congestion occurs at 80db arverage listenening level on some recordings in every possible speaker position imaginable.
I can only assume it's a speaker problem.
I heard the 801d a few months back and the whole room was filled with a midrange sound pressure that was not part of the music signal. At the time I thought it could be a room problem but the room was very large with acoustic treatment.
I can see now it has to be the midrange cone resonating...
N801 going for a good price..
