Re: Dynaudio Special Twenty-Five Speakers

It's always been my opinion that the Krell mono's are a bit dry sounding. Not cold or harsh, but not the most lively sonics...they're not real "toe tappers". The mono's perform well, but dont seem to have alot of soul. The 300c and 200c, on the other hand, seem to have 98% of the control and ease of the mono's while, for some reason unknown to me, sounding more musical...more soulful. I have absoloutly no idea why this is?

I wouldn't be to worried about the cx series...from what I've read it's just more powerful versions of the same amps. No topology changes, just more horsepower. I think we have some info about the cx upgrade program around here somewhere...I'll see if I can dig it up and get some more/better info.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting enough bass from the Dyns [25 or C2]...as your placing them close enough to the wall that you're likely to get some amount of audible reinforcment. I'm not real up on the Dynaudio DDC technology, so I guess I'm not real sure how that makes the speakers easier to place. I know the old C5 was relatively easy to find a spot for due to the inverted driver array...basically the woofer was futher away from the floor, so LF reflections from the floor were lesser...is that sorta what DDC is???
