the circle--I hopped off.

"Reading the constant upgrade-itis here on AA mostly just makes me recollect my past sickness with little fondness - happy in knowing I'll never go back. "

Yes ! I know that a big part of my audiophile hobby was upgrad-itis. I ended the need for this with my current system and it has greatly changed the hobby for me. (My entire system is made of some of the components you mention)

Here is the circle many are caught in now:

1. Find fault with current system.
2. Look to cure system with upgrade or make a "change"
3. Buy new equipment. (a kind of addicts high point here)
4. Rejoice ! Listen to music and rave about the improvements.
5. Post here about the latest purchase improvements.
6. Let time pass.
7. Back to step 1.

I ended this circle for me but also changed the way I listen to music. I feel much better now. Sure I'll keep a turntable and a little amp. The music will still be great.
