Hi,
No thoughts. Here is what TI are saying about it:
The PCM4104 is a high-performance, four-channel digital-to-analog (D/A) converter designed for use in professional audio applications.
The PCM4104 features delta-sigma architecture, employing a high-performance multi-level modulator combined with a switched capacitor output filter.
Typical Dynamic Performance (24-Bit Data)
Dynamic Range (A-Weighted): 118dB
THD+N: -100dB
Linear Phase, 8x Oversampling Digital Interpolation Filter
APPLICATIONS
Digital Mixing Consoles
Digital Audio Workstations
Digital Audio Effects Processors
Broadcast Studio Equipment
Surround-Sound Processors
High-End A/V Receivers
Personally I could see no reason to design it into anything as long as other options remain available, but as said, much depends on implementation.
That said, TI has been on a killing spree for their more interesting audio parts in recent times and I would not be surprised if the comparably expensive and low volume/low margin hybrid DAC Chip's originally designed by Burr Brown Japan will also soon go the way of the Dodo.
Then I may have to also switch to discrete DAC's, in self defence...

At 20 bits, you are on the verge of dynamic range covering fly-farts-at-20-feet to intolerable pain. Really, what more could we need?
