I must say that was great insight on your part! I cannot believe I've missed something as blatantly obvious as this before. Thanks for opening my eyes to this. I'm sure we'd all readily admit that speakers can and do sound different.

However it's quite clear that very knowledge alone would seem to dictate an objectivist, or at least any objectivist who honestly believes what they constantly espouse here, would need to take a DBT when choosing speakers! Why? Because how can they be sure that their belief that speakers sound different, isn't precisely why they are hearing differences in speakers in the first place? Let alone, as you clearly pointed out, how brand name, lustrous piano finishes, beautiful veneers, exotic driver and/or cabinet materials, Avant-garde shapes, etc might also be influencing their choices.

As far as I'm concerned any objectivist who doesn't select their speakers via DBTs hasn't any room to speak against anyone else who chooses their other components how these objectivists choose their speakers. i.e. sighted tests. Thanks for that insight.
