Which is to never give an answer when being asked a question.
If I'm wrong in what I say, then please prove it and what's more, back it up!
"Don't you think it would be good idea to reduce distortion"
Distortion yes, but, apart from room modes, where do rooms generate distortion? If they did, they all would, even the finest concert halls in the world! Ever read technical literature about concert hall acoustics?
"room anomalies such as the ones I bring up"
What room anomaly would this be, interference patterns with pressure increase close to boundaries where nobody is sitting while listening?
Yes, I know that there's an entire industry selling room acoustic treatment to the gullible audiophile. They claim to solve specific problems but when you take a closer look you realize that many of these problems, perhaps even none of them, do not exist in the first place. Of course, treatment devices will work and you will hear a difference. But does that prove that there has been a problem?
