There are cases where early reflections are stronger than the direct sound, such a case is where the orchestra sits in a pit and where there are ceiling reflectors just above the pit.
In acoustically small rooms reflections are always weaker than the direct sound. Because of greater travel length and because of absorption at boundaries. Room corners do not generate early reflections. Period.
Now I'd like to see that demonstration of yours! Hello???
