RE: USB v Ethernet for streaming

Thanks for the advice Abe. I've come to the conclusion it's a zone issue. Before Friday, Roon displays on iPads and the iMac showed two zones, a zone labeled upstairs in which the Ayre QX-5 resides and a zone labeled downstairs in which the QB-9 and ultraRendu reside. When I opened Roon on the iPad Friday morning IIRC Roon did a software update after which it displayed only the zone labeled upstairs with the QX-5, and that functions as usual. Reinserting the ultraRendu has no effect in resurrecting the zone labeled downstairs.

Unfortunately I don't know how to delete or reestablish a zone, but I need to lean because i suspect that's the path to a solution. Downstairs my Mac Mini, QB-9 and utraRendu, if installed, are powered up 24/7; upstairs the iMac that runs Roon bridge and the QX-5 are also powered up 24/7, although the QX-5 has a standby mode. I had hoped the downstairs zone setup was settled: USB from Mini to QB-9, balanced analog through Ayre preamp to JC 1 monoblocks. The upstairs zone setup has long been Ethernet to Ayre QX-5, balanced analog through KX-5 preamp to VX-5 amp, and it remains rock solid.

I haven't found Roon support very helpful, if it's not to much to ask could you instruct me how to delete and reestablish a zone?
