I decided to go for a trial of Tidal lossless tonight. My initial impression is that using the Sonos Connect there is no appreciable difference between Deezer and Tidal playing FLAC tracks. (MQA does not enter the discussion.) In fact, every time I thought I heard a difference, I went back to confirm that I was mistaken. I will continue to test during my two-week trial of Tidal, but it looks as though I'm going to keep Deezer Elite/HiFi because of its larger song library.
I realize most of you would rather hear about high resolution audio, but I needed to resolve this issue for myself.
