"please explain why so many people find the Lowther's to be just what they were looking for."It's fairly simple: Not everyone places the same importance on the same aspects of sound reproduction, and, not everyone is an equally skilled listener. Put those two things together, and you get a variety of loudspeakers which range from the Bose Wave radio/CD player, to $200,000 behemoths.
Most music listeners are somewhere in between, and satisfied wide-range single-driver listeners occupy a segment of that spectrum.
