In any field, there is general agreement on the defintion of terms. It's essential, in order to have a meaningful conversation.
Bill F. and I aren't "arguing semantics". Words mean things. "Full range" is one thing, "wide range" is a different thing.
I understand that, every year, there is a new crop of folks, and that the audio press is always there to market to them. It's just reality.
But, after decades of the notion of "full range drivers", can't the "audiophile folks" please finally put that folly to rest, and grow?
The pro audio folks have known for many decades that there isn't such a thing as a "full range driver". It's simple physics! Even I understand it! So, why is this folly perpetuated in the "audiophile" arena?
"Wide range", yes. "Full range", no.
