Re: Audio Note is Now Filterless

Dear Dave,

We are now, since we removed the analogue filters in July-August 2004 in all our converters and I think I can say with some confidence that whilst it measures somewhat less than "ideal" it is a substantial sonic improvement on the designs which used analogue filters, it is not soft and rolled off as you suggest and it does not sound distorted either.

Ask anyone who has heard the difference.

The problem with going completely "filterless" is that the interface between DAC chip and circuit becomes far far more critical and needs to be extremely carefully matched, and in this regard our patented transformer I/V may be the critical ingredient.

Sincerely,
Peter Qvortrup
