Re: Eminent Technology LFT-VIIIA Speakers

Yup, auditioning is a little bit of the problem due to limited number of dealers.

For example, there is only one place in Chicago area that I know of to hear it, and by appointment only.

But by pure coincidence, on one of my trips I was in the home of the person who owned pair, and there I really liked what I heard. That I did not have chance to hear it in private home, I do not know if I would buy it.

In the meantime I listened to MG1.6 and ML Mosaic, Clarity, Aeon i. My impressions were:

MG1.6: Previously I talked about it, so I won't repeat.
Mosaic: Terrible integration, harsh uneven sound, lack of bottom extension, bass out of control. What were they smoking? $2000? Give me a break.
Clarity: We are getting somewhere, electrostatic speed etc., but still not well integrated with bass, better bass quality, I could live with it but $2700.
Aeon i: This one is nice but with tag of $4300 over my range. There is lot of choices in that range. (Not that I really was considering it but was hooked up when I came in the store)

LFT-VIIIa not giving much to the more expensive models in respect to clarity, speed etc. and surpassing them in other aspects as integration, bass extension and control, was a clear winner.

For $1500 list, it was no brainer.
