Well, I actually wanted to buy MG1.6, I visited several dealers over 6 months period of time, and as I said was put-off buy the disappointing low level performance and overall brightness/bite of the sound.And that was with Classe, Classe+Rotel combo, or Myryad, don't remember other 2, which are known as quite smooth or at least not harsh at all. Also, I listened it few years back, and had the same impression, but then I did not have appropriate space for them.
In addition, power/current requirement seemed way too high. I tested 250WPC Rotel (1090?) playing full power in medium size room and although loud, not to much.
Than visual size is even more imposing.
Last, with stands they were significantly more expensive than ET's.Don't take this as a MG1.6 bashing, they are great too, they just did not do it for me. That is why I encourage anyone to listen both of them for a LENGTHY period of time.
PD: It is unfortunate that MG12 is not even carried by some dealers, I managed to hear it at one place only.
