I'm satisfied with my 3.6's powered by tubes but if I had money burning a whole in my pocket I would go the active crossover route and a SS amp on the bass. You can get as much as 3db more level by not running your signal thru the passive crossover. (Note: this is based on the many positive comments made on this board from other inmates.)
