smga's Ka7niq Question and a comment about MGIIIa's

70.56.115.197

Have You noticed yet if the tweets are in or out . Just Curious .

I use the MG IIIa's that You don't care for . It takes a tremendous amount of tweaking , praying ,etc to get them to be right . I've wanted to dump them over the years several times but could not get my wife to agree .

What they were trying to me is my upstream equipment was not the best it could be , the speakers themselves were not tweaked the way they should be , my power cables , emi/rfi were not what they should be , the coupling/isolation of the components , the cheap stands etc, etc, etc were not what they should be . Now , they are , and the results are stunning .This is not to say that those same components would not have worked with other speakers very well .

The situation now arises , every small tweak I do causes a large change ( for better or worse ) in the sound .

You take the good , reject the bad , and keep on tweaking .

I've had my MG IIIa's for 16 years , it took 9 to get them to sound just ok . the last 7 they have slowly evolved into a great sound .

I wish You all the best on Your quest with the smga's :-) .

Joe
